CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets

DUBAI:  In the 49th match of IPL, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (CSK vs KKR) by 6 wickets. The target of 173 runs was won by Chennai Super Kings on the last ball. Chennai needed 7 runs off the last 2 balls and Jadeja smashed both the balls to give the team victory. Apart from Jadeja, Rituraj Gaikwad played brilliant innings of 72 runs. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 31 off 11 balls and gave Chennai the victory. After this win by Chennai, Mumbai Indians became the first team to reach the IPL 2020 playoffs.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and invited KKR to bat. KKR batting first scored 172 runs in 20 overs. Nitish Rana scored the highest runs from KKR, which remained at the crease during almost the whole. Apart from them, Shubman Gill took 26, while Lungi Angidi, Mitchell Sentner, Ravindra Jadeja, and Karn Sharma from CSK got 1-1 wickets.

KKR was given a brilliant start by Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana and shared a 53-run partnership for the first wicket. However, as soon as Shubman Gill (26) was run out, the team lost the wickets of Sunil Narayan (7) and Rinku Singh (11) soon. However, Nitish Rana (87) remained on one side and completed his half-century. Nitish Rana scored 87 runs and caught hold of Sam Karran. At the same time, Dinesh Karthik (21) and Oyen Morgan (15) played some big shots, bringing the team’s score to 172.
