The Portuguese Football Federation just left us all speechless when it communicated that Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for Covid-19.
The Portuguese took the test after the Nations League match against France (0-0) and tested positive, so he had to isolate himself and go into quarantine: to everyone’s peace of mind, he feels well and is asymptomatic.
Due to the result, all of his selection colleagues were retested, and all tested negative, so they remain focused. Portugal has one more match on this Nations League match, against tough Sweden, tomorrow at 7:45 p.m. (Spanish time) in Alvalade, Lisbon.
For his part, Cristiano was going to return to Italy after tomorrow’s game but will stay in Madeira quarantining until he recovers. This Saturday he will be absent in the match against Crotone, for Serie A, and the same will happen on Tuesday when his team travels to Ukraine to face Dynamo Kyiv for the first day of the Champions League.
Everyone is probably wondering if he will be available for the game against Barcelona on October 28, corresponding to the second day of Oregon (in Italy) and, although there is no certain answer since everything depends on many factors, everything indicates that yes, he will be able to see Messi and company in the most promising match of the group stage
